Words of Encouragement 4-10-24

Hey Church, our word for this week comes to us from Jesus himself again in John 10:10b.

“I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”

I want to talk to you a little today about how God gives new life to his creation in the springtime.  New life seems to be everywhere.  Out of the bleakness and dullness of winter comes new creation (young animals, new plants, new leaves on trees, green grass).  Life seems to spring forth everywhere. In the same way, when Jesus rose from the grave conquering death and sin for us, he gave us the gift of new life.  Just as Jesus appeared to his disciples and especially Thomas in that closed upper room where they were hiding (he met them right where they were), he will also meet us right where we are in our lives, bringing us his saving grace no matter how undeserving we are. He also meets us where we are weak and struggling in our lives with sickness both physical and mental and emotional and gives us his Holy Spirit to help us through by strengthening us and guiding us. I want to encourage you today to do as Thomas did metaphorically and put your hand in Jesus’ nail prints and his side, spend time with him in prayer and reading his word as it says in Psalms 34:8

“Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”

God Bless
