Words of Encouragement 5-1-24

Hey Church, our word for this week comes to us again from Jesus himself in one of his parables in Luke 15:32

“But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again, he was lost and is found.”

I want to talk to you a little today about how, like the prodigal son, we were all “dead” in our sins and “lost”. But by accepting what Jesus has done for us on the cross and with the empty tomb, that we too, like the prodigal son, can be “alive again and found”. This doesn’t mean that we will be perfect people and never stumble and fall and come up short of the glory of God in our lives. It simply means that as human beings we will do our best to live a life pleasing to God with the help of his Holy Spirit within us. We will strive to know him better though prayer, bible study, listening to his voice of guidance and being obedient to him. I want to encourage you and remind you today that if and when you do “fall short” you can pick yourself up and start “anew” as it says in Lamentations 3:22-23

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning, great is his faithfulness “KJV” it also says in 1 John 1:8-9 “If we claim to be without sink, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” NIV

God Bless,
